MEMBERSHIP/REFFERAL LIST
Membership Information:
January is the time to renew your membership in NMATA. Affiliate chapter membership has become more complicated in the past two years because AATA is requiring all members of affiliate chapters to also be active members of AATA. We know that this is an extra expense, but encourage your membership in both organizations as a way of staying connected both personally and professionally. With AATA membership you receive the quarterly journal, ARTherapy, the AATA Newsletter, discounts on conferences and tapes. AATA membership also helps one get a good rate on professional liability insurance. If you are not an AATA Member or are unsure of your status, please contact AATA at 1-847-949-6064 or 1-888-290-0878, or go to www.arttherapy.org.
Professional Membership in AATA is $135.00 per year and does not include local chapter dues. If you are an AATA Member, you must still pay an additional $30.00 to become a professional member of an affiliate chapter such as NMATA.
This has been a confusing process. AATA supplies us with a monthly list of those who have sent in their chapter dues. Many of you may have sent dues to AATA thinking that you are automatically also joining NMATA.
If you are unsure of your status,
call AATA at 1-888-290-0878. Call Luanne Lee (922-9548) to see if
your name has been included on the monthly updated AATA/NMATA Chapter
Affiliate list. Save your cancelled checks in case you need proof of how
much you have sent in to AATA.
NMATA Members receive free CEUs at
all NMATA presentations, and free or reduced rates at NMATA-sponsored
events. NMATA is offering a special category for students and those of you
who simply want to receive mailings or be included in the new
Membership Directory which we plan to have ready in late February. The fee
is to cover postage and mailing and will not qualify you with membership
status.

If you are an Art Therapist and would like to be listed on NMATA's Find a Therapist list, please fill out the NMATA Referral form and mail it to NMATA with payment. Please be as thorough as possible .
Every first-time listing
is posted for two months compliments of NMATA; after these two months, the fee
is $50.00 for 12 months, beginning from the time payment is received. Your fee
for this advertising service helps defray the cost of operating our website.
